I am a diehard Sex and The City fan; as most women are. The reason we learn to love this shows is because we aren’t assimilating to one character but them all. There is a little of each of them in all of us. I can be as sexual as Samantha, as prude as Charlotte, as smart as Miranda and as witty as Carrie. We can relate to embarrassing hook ups, and bad break ups. Sometimes they are pulled together and sometimes not so much both to which can apply to every one of us. Where I am getting with this is that…
Recently I started watching The Mindy Project thus being why I have been extremely absent from my blog. I am not so much addicted to the show as I am addicted to WHO Mindy is. The great part? Her character greatly relates to who she is in real life. She is a slightly chaotic thick Hindu woman from Boston who seems to have excelled in most aspects of life other than finding the right man for her. She is witty, outgoing, comical, and very confident in herself. In the show they make many references to her being fat because well in the world we live in she would be considered so. This doesn’t bring her down or lessen her view on herself. It really sheds light on the importance of being an intelligent woman with a wicked personality. Qualities that most women seem to think have become irrelevant if you are thin and beautiful.
Alongside her co-workers she establishes really good points on the importance of relationships. Who and what are important. Supporting people even when you don’t agree with them and learning to forgive not only other but yourself for mistakes that were made.
So my review on The Mindy Project is I wish there was more episodes I could soak my life into. I fell in love with the characters and what they stood for. I definitely recommend this TV series to anyone who needs a good laugh and sometimes even a good cry. Something I learned from Mindy is that you are as amazing as you want to be. Her show falls third place on my scale of SATC and HBO Girls.
